China Syndrome Take Two

As there is quite some "David vs. Goliath" themed response paper writing going on, I decided to change mine. As I wouldn't want to “pollute” the discourse with another one, I will now elaborate on the “clash of collars” with similarities and differences of Jack Godell and Ted Spindler. (And don’t worry, I won’t actually title my response paper “Clash of Collars” however tempting it might be)

  1. No do it! I like "Collared Collision: the Irony and Binary of Choice in "China Syndrome"" (Of course the movie title will have to be italicized and not quoted, but I can't do stuff). I also don't actually know if your topic would have any irony or binaries involved, but mine would and I think if anything else it's a good format to look into. I do something like that every time at least.

And also, I think you SHOULD "pollute" the blog with more. That's why we have it! Were you going to focus on what we went over in class and expand it, or tweak it up?

Smart change of subject, post if you need to.

  2. Konstantin,

I actually don't mind the witty title. Thing is, the film offers us this choice. We see how similar characters react differently to the event. Why? What is that all about? What's going on with that choice by the filmmaker to give US a choice? We ultimately side with one or the other, and that act is meaningful. Why does the film allow us that strange opportunity?
